Piper’s Parties is a family-run balloon decor and party hire business based in Swadlincote. This page explains what personal information we collect through this website, why we collect it, who sees it, and what your rights are. We keep it short and in plain English.
Who we are
Piper’s Parties, 12 Regent Street, Church Gresley, Swadlincote, Derbyshire, DE11 9PL. For anything about your personal information, email info@pipersparties.co.uk. We are the “controller” of the information described below.
What we collect, and why
When you send us an enquiry or quote request through the website, you give us details such as your name, telephone number, email address, event date, and postcode. Depending on the job you may also give us a home or venue address, venue layout notes, a venue contact, notes about what you want, and photos you upload for inspiration. We use this only to reply to you, prepare your quote, plan and carry out your booking, deliver and collect items, take payment, and keep the records the law requires.
If you claim a VIP discount on our VIP page, you give us your name and an email address or phone number. The form sends them straight to us by email together with your discount code, and we use them only to give you your code and get in touch about your booking.
If you contact us by email, WhatsApp, telephone, Facebook or Instagram, we keep the messages so we can carry on the conversation and look after your booking.
We never ask for, take or store payment card details, on this website or anywhere else. You pay us in cash, or by using a QR code or payment link we send you by WhatsApp or email. We do not sell your information or use it for anything unrelated to your enquiry.
Our legal reasons for using your information
- To take steps at your request before a contract, and to carry out the contract (answering your enquiry, quoting, booking, delivery and collection).
- Legal obligation (keeping invoices and accounting records, and meeting health and safety and insurance requirements).
- Legitimate interests (keeping our records accurate, protecting the website from misuse, and following up an enquiry you started). We balance this against your rights each time.
- Consent for any non-essential cookies, which you can accept or refuse in the cookie banner and change at any time (see below).
Who we share it with
Only the people we need to get the job done. That means our website host and email provider (both IONOS) and, where you have asked us to deal with a venue directly, that venue’s contact. Our site also uses Google Maps to show our collection address, Google Fonts for its lettering and Cookiebot to manage cookie choices. Those services may receive technical information such as your IP address when they load. We do not sell or rent personal information to anyone.
How long we keep it
If an enquiry does not turn into a booking we keep it for up to 6 months in case you come back to us, then delete it. Booking and invoice records are kept for six years because tax rules require it. Photos and files you upload with a quote request are deleted automatically after about 6 months. VIP discount claims (name, and email or phone number) are kept for up to 6 months if you do not book.
Anonymous click counts
On the pages we run for our partner suppliers we keep simple tallies: how many times a page was opened and how many times each package’s Book button was pressed. These are plain numbers per day. They are not linked to you, and we do not store your IP address, name, device details or any cookie for them.
Across the whole website we also keep simple tallies of what is popular, so we can see what people are looking for each month: how many times each page was opened, how many times each package or service was added to a booking list, and how often a well-known theme or colour (for example a TV character or “sage green”) is typed into the theme and colour boxes of the quote tool. Whatever you type is compared with our word list and then thrown away — only the tally for the matching word goes up. These are plain numbers per day, they are not linked to you, and nothing is stored on your phone or computer for them.
Cookies
We use a consent tool called Cookiebot. When you first visit you can accept or refuse non-essential cookies, and you can change your mind at any time with the “Cookie settings” link at the bottom of every page. The list below is kept up to date by Cookiebot.
Keeping it safe
The website runs over a secure (https) connection, access to the information we hold is restricted, and we only keep what we need. No system is perfect, so if you ever think something has gone wrong, tell us straight away.
Your rights
You can ask us to show you the information we hold about you, correct it, delete it, limit how we use it, or send it to you in a portable format. You can also object to us using it for our legitimate interests. Email info@pipersparties.co.uk and we will answer within one month.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, please tell us first so we can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
Children
This website is for adults arranging parties and events. We do not knowingly collect information from children. If a quote is for a child’s party, we deal with the parent or carer making the booking.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we use your information we will update this page and the date at the top.
